Gallery TEN is pleased to announce its 2016 Festival exhibition. World renowned glass duo Baldwin & Guggisberg will be installing a number of works inside St Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh’s West End. Japanese printmaker Kouki Tsuritani will be exhibiting a collection of his outstanding mezzotint prints in the Edinburgh Festival which will inspire and enthral viewers with both their fantastical images and his technical skills. Alongside Kouki’s work, Edinburgh based Gallery Ten is exhibiting a number of International and British artists who either use Japanese techniques or draw inspiration from Japanese art and imagery. The applied arts will be represented by a number of Japanese printmakers, jewellers, ceramicists, glass and leather artists whose work shows the extraordinary and refined qualities of contemporary Japanese art and applied art.
After a successful opening our Edinburgh Festival exhibition is now open. PRINT FUSION is a collection of eleven printmakers showcasing their work in Gallery TEN Edinburgh.
Print now includes photography, mixed media and digital technologies all being utilised alongside traditional printmaking techniques.
Presenting some of the expressive and varied range of artistic output we explore the technical issues that occur from the use of these very different processes within printmaking. The exhibition runs until the 2nd of September.
