Paul Musgrove

Born and raised in Hertfordshire Paul did a foundation course at St Albans College of Art & Design followed by degree studies at Manchester Polytechnic, specializing in Furniture design and hot glass making acquiring a BA(Hons) in 3-D Design in 1980.

After leaving college he worked on an archaeological excavation in West Heslerton, North Yorkshire as site photographer and site supervisor, under site director Dominic Powlesland.

In 1982 he joined Glassworks hot glass studio in Edinburgh to assist in setting up a new workshop with Jenny Antonio. As a result he received an SDA new craftsman grant with the Glassworks studio and moved permanently to Edinburgh.

During 1990 he dissolved the Glassworks studio and started working for Forest Fire Ltd the wood heating specialists based in Edinburgh with co-director Stewart McKenna. During his time with the company he attended numerous conferences and training courses concerning all aspects of wood fired heating.

In July 2008 he decided to close Forest Fire in order to pursue and further his interests in the arts, since which time he has been a practising printmaker, having attended several courses at The Edinburgh Printmakers.

In 2012 he opened Gallery TEN with fellow printmaker Gill Tyson and continues to run a busy schedule of exhibitions while making glass and prints when there is time to do so!
