Barbara Rae – “Overberg” printers proof

We have been asked on several occasions to explain the meaning of the P/P marking on the Barbara Rae print “Overberg”. It stands for ‘Printers Proof’ and is the notation given to a print which is signed by the artist and given to the master printer who was involved in the technical process of actually making the print. This fantastic print is currently available from Gallery TEN. The print image is very painterly and contains an estimated 30 or more printed colours in the final edition. Made in 1997 in an edition of 40 the edition is long since sold out, so this is a great opportunity to acquire a copy of this beautiful print.
